Step 3: Add VerifyForge Action
- Click the "+" button to add a new action step
- Search for "VerifyForge"
- Select "Validate Email" action
- Map the email field from your trigger to the Email input
Step 4: Use the Results
The validation results include:
- Deliverability - Can the email receive mail? (deliverable/undeliverable/unknown)
- Reachability - Quality level (safe/risky/invalid/unknown)

Authentication
VerifyForge uses OAuth 2.0 authentication for secure, seamless integration with Zapier.
OAuth Details
- Authorization URL:
https://verifyforge.com/api/oauth/authorize - Token URL:
https://verifyforge.com/api/oauth/token - Scopes:
email:validate,credits:read
When you connect your account, you'll:
- Be redirected to VerifyForge
- Sign in to your account (if not already signed in)
- Review the permissions Zapier is requesting
- Click "Authorize" to grant access
- Be redirected back to Zapier
Your access token will be automatically refreshed when needed, so your Zaps will continue running without interruption.
Managing Connected Accounts
To view or revoke Zapier's access:
- Sign in to VerifyForge
- Go to Settings → Connected Apps
- Find "Zapier" in the list
- Click "Revoke Access" if you want to disconnect
Rate Limits
The VerifyForge API has the following rate limits:
- 100 requests per minute per account
- 10,000 requests per day per account
Zapier automatically handles rate limiting with retries. If you hit rate limits:
- Zaps will pause briefly and retry
- Consider upgrading your VerifyForge plan for higher limits
- Use bulk validation endpoints for large lists
Credit Usage
Each email validation consumes 1 credit from your VerifyForge account balance.
Important:
- Make sure you have sufficient credits before running Zaps
- Monitor your credit usage in the VerifyForge dashboard
- Set up credit alerts to avoid interruptions
- Upgrade your plan if you need more credits
Troubleshooting
"Insufficient Credits" Error
Solution: Add more credits to your VerifyForge account or upgrade your plan.
"Authentication Failed" Error
Solution:
- Disconnect VerifyForge from Zapier
- Reconnect and re-authorize
- Make sure you're using the correct VerifyForge account
Validation Results Not Appearing
Solution:
- Test the Zap step to see the actual output
- Check that you're mapping the correct output fields
- Verify the email field contains a valid email format
Zap Running Slowly
Solution:
- Check if you're hitting rate limits
- Reduce the number of simultaneous Zaps running
- Consider batching validations if processing large lists
Best Practices
1. Filter Early, Filter Often
Add Filter steps after validation to separate emails by quality:
If reachability is "safe" → Continue
Otherwise → Stop
2. Handle Suggestions
When VerifyForge detects a typo, it provides a suggestion field:
- Store the original email
- Use the suggested email for communications
- Notify users of the correction
3. Monitor Credit Usage
Set up a weekly Zap to:
- Get your credit balance (future action)
- Send yourself an alert if credits are low
- Prevent workflow interruptions
4. Segment by Quality
Create different paths for different email quality levels:
- Safe → Primary marketing list
- Risky → Re-engagement campaign
- Invalid → Suppression list
5. Validate at Entry Point
Validate emails as soon as they enter your system:
- Form submissions
- API webhooks
- Import processes
This prevents invalid emails from polluting your database.
Example Zap: Form Submission Validator
Goal: Validate emails from Google Forms and only add valid ones to Google Sheets.
Setup:
-
Trigger: Google Forms - New Form Response
- Select your form
- Test to get sample data
-
Action: VerifyForge - Validate Email
- Email: Map to form's email field
- Test to see validation results
-
Filter: Only continue if...
- Reachability is "safe"
-
Action: Google Sheets - Create Spreadsheet Row
- Map form data to sheet columns
- Add validation status column
Result: Only high-quality, deliverable emails make it to your sheet!
